Not easy

I am disappointed in the cartridge. It is not made in the US and the snap off part is very hard to come off. Not sure how it will perform. But I was unhappy when I got the printer that it did not have any instructions on how to assemble it. Only a couple of pictures which did not help at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This XL ink lasts a long time.

Most of my printing is text, and this cartridge lasts twice as long. I print out my Sunday Bible study lesson plans each week--can often go months before having to replace an XL cartridge.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed with new size

I love being able to order an XL for my black ink cartridge, but am disappointed in the change of size. I used to get an XL cartridge that was 3X the ink. This one is only 2X the ink.

Watch out for running out!

The 5520 printer works nicely with this cartridge, which does last a decent number of copies. However, it totally ran out of ink when the 5520 was reporting some to be left, and with no computer warning. So always have a backup handy.

Bad Cartridge?

This is based on the first one I bought. It didn't last through 20 pages. The second one seems better...but time will tell. If it happens again no more ink from HP.

Ink waste

The printer refuses to print when the black ink is low, but not gone. I had to install a new, fresh cartridge to print. By looking at the ink supply graphic, the cartridge had 15-20 percent remaining.
This erases the advantage of buying and installing the XL cartridge.
