printer doesn't work when I change ink cartridge

Every time I change black ink cartridge my printer doesn't want to work. I have had to clean the printhead now two times and it still doesn't work. It seems to have to sit turned off for a couple days and then all of a sudden it will print! Very tempermental printer but I guess the ink is OK.

I have been a computer user since the 70's. During that time frame I had many printers, from dot matrix, to standard print. All have ended up in the scrap heap except for HP. The painters ar fantastic and the ink is much more affordable than the other brands of printers. You get what you pay for and HP ink is the best.

The ink cartridge is fine, but replacing it in my printer turned out to be a chore - it doesn't fit like the other (color) cartridges, and still doesn't appear to be working properly, as I can't get the print alignment to complete.
