Nice basic microwave

I have this in a van. It warms food as expected. Since it runs off an inverter the power is off most of the time and it loses time and other settings. Some of the error messages are entertaining. For example, if I out food in the microwave, then turn on the inverter, then push the quick cook buttons the microwave beeps and displays "FOOD". All you have to do is open the door, close it again, and then press a quick start button. The only problem is that the error message is very uninformative and I had to look it up in the user manual. Be sure to keep the manual around, as many of the functions are not intuitive. Once you get used to it, everything works OK.
It seems pretty rugged. I drive dirt roads and have this bolted in to the galley cabinet in my van. Still alive many months later.

Heats intermittently

I never can get anything warm with 1 minute. I think all microwaves should just come with the 1 minute heat up... and not heat the plates!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Your microwave does offer Express Cook features. You can press any pad from 1-6 and your microwave will automatically heat for that length of time. When heating food in your microwave, if you find the plate or utensil gets warm or hot and the food does not, that is likely an indication the utensil is not microwave safe. Excellent shelf-size microwave. Good features.

This microwave was purchased to replace a similarly-sized GE unit we've had for nearly 20 years. Clearly several features have been improved: the carousel, the keypad & its functions. The unit remains a shelf-sized microwave at an inexpensive price-point which is capable of cooking anything, which fits its interior, almost as quickly as much larger units.

This was a Great little microwave for the price point. It seemed completely designed to minimize how many buttons you need to press, which works for me.

Small Size, Big on Ability

We had a 24" spacemaker and decided to go smaller with this 18" size. The wattage is less so it take slightly longer than the bigger models, but it is hardly noticeable. The inside fits a very large dinner plate so we have had no issues with fitting anything in. The only thing I thought it had but doesn't is the screw holes on top to attach to the underside of an upper cabinet. I may have purchase a model that does not offer that so it might be my fault. We built a nice shelf to sit it on and it actually looks better that way.
