Disappointment

I have owned 3 other GE microwaves and bought this addition for my father's house assuming the same quality would be used. Unfortunately, this unit is a disappointment as far as the solidness of the unit. The door closing is extremely noisy as is the operation of the unit. I do love the chrome look of this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This microwave works great so far. We’ve had it for a few days. It’s much more quiet than our last midsize microwave and the buttons are simple and effective. Love the 30 sec add, button lock, and defrost options. Microwave cooks evenly and pretty quickly for a smaller one. Only downside is the door is loud when closing. A softer door would earn 5 stars for sure.

Poor Panel ilumination

The Microwave works great, but the Panel is very hard to see in low light. I find myself having to use a flashlight to see the panel numbers, etc.

I replaced it with my old similar size GE microwave oven that seemed to last forever. This new one is sleeker and takes up less space on the counter top and cooks food faster than I expected. It is so much quieter than our old model.
