I've only had this microwave a couple of months but so far it does everything I need it to do which is heating up water & warming already cooked dishes. Since it's only been 2 months & my previous 2 GE microwaves broke down, I only gave it a 3 rating. It may deserve better but longevity is a big issue for me. We shall see...The 1st question below I'm giving it a No right now because there is no choice for Possibly...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like it very much but the instruction manual that came with it is too generic- tells of features that are not on this model nor clearly explain how to use. Had to more or less figure it out on my own...

Quieter than my former microwave

One thing I especially like about this microwave is when you forget something in there for a minute it doesn't keep blasting you with the beep. All in all, this microwave is quieter than the one we previously owned.

This was the top of the line Microwave I looked at in my price range. I had this same microwave for 10 years, but 1100 Watt and in black and I was so used to it and it had all the features I needed, plus the light came on when you open the door (my favorite feature). I purchased a different brand at first, because I missed this one marked 950 Watts. I hated it and started more research. When I found out that 950W and 1100W has hardly any difference in cooking, that's when I found this one. There isn't any difference in cooking time at all. I use it for a cup of coffee and for frozen dinners and I set the time exactly as I would if it were my old 1100W. I'm thrilled to death that I bought this one. The glass tray is even slightly larger than my old one. I also defrost frozen meat a lot and this is just so easy to use. For my coffee, I just hit 2 and it automatically starts. You can start with 30 seconds at one push of a button, which wasn't on my old one. There are features on this model that I will probably never use. I just hope I get 10 years out of it. It's really sturdy and well made, so I'm thinking it will last longer. It looks so nice in my kitchen. This is one of my best recent purchases that I've had to make on short notice. Definitely worth looking into.
