It took some getting used to because my older GE microwave had different settings. Works well but manual not too helpful. I do like the quality.

1. Operating panel not backlit? In the evening have to turn on the kitchen lights to operate it. Waste of energy!
2. Programming very confusing. My Panasonic microwave was much easier to run.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We replaced our old unit with this new one. It's the updated version of what we had. The new key pad is difficult to read, and the door release is much to stiff to push. I had to block the rear cabinet to keep the oven from moving every time we opened the door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice looks bit first one died in under 8 months!!

The first one of this model I got lasted a whopping 8 months and then the keypad wouldn't work and was rendered useless. Maybe it is on me that I didnt fill out the warranty card and send it in when I bought the first one, but didn’t and I got burned. It worked fine while I had it but 8 months is a bit of a ridiculously short lifespan for a microwave no?! The looks of it match my other stainless appliances by GE so I actually bought the same model to replace the one that died. This time however I filled out the warranty card. Live and learn.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Operator Panel

The touch pad control panel is not user friendly, especially for an older person.
It’s very difficult to make a selection as you cannot “feel” the numbered positions. It’s a flat panel with no “bubble” feel or touch. I usually turn on a light to see where to press. I have no idea how a person with poor eyesight can operate this panel. The amount of pressure required to operate the buttons seems to vary, that is sometimes a light touch and sometimes it requires a strong press.
