This is the 3rd GE microwave I have had – I love the product. My favorite new feature on this one is related to the KITCHEN TIMER. It used to be if I was timing something and I wanted to heat up my coffee, the timer would stop and I would need to re-enter the remaining time when my coffee was ready. Now the KITCHEN TIMER keeps the time and remembers how much is left, so I don’t have to!

The select panel is hard ti see in a low lit room. I keep a small key chain light along side the unit so I can read the dark and unlit select display panel.

Sometimes sparks flames

I find it kind of dangerous. Occasionally sparks and flames come out of the inner metal square mounted on the inside of the microwave. I feel it presents a serious fire hazard. It goes out once microwave door is quickly opened. I think it is an electrical issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
