Good power, heats thick ceramic glasses too.
Intuitive keys. There is even a pizza key that we use!
Numbers should default to time cook. Currently grandma presses the default 1 number for 1 minute cook and spills all the time. Earlier microwave it was time cook default when number is pressed.

I like the way the microwave look like, and it takes half of the time to heat any thing you need heating up

Control panel is too dark to read.

This is a good quality, solid, attractive microwave, and the interior capacity is large compared to the exterior size. But the control panel buttons are way to faint to read. I resorted to highlighting the buttons I mostly use with metallic silver magic marker! (See photo). I underlined the words on the Time, Power, and Start buttons. I put 1, 2, and 3 dots on those number-buttons. Otherwise, I have to use a flashlight unless the big, overhead lights are on, or it's broad daylight.
I also prefer the models where you press the number of seconds you want to cook, then hit Start. This one makes you first press Time, then press the number of seconds you need, then press Start. Since I've always had the other kind, I usually accidentally hit the 3 or 4 button first, meaning to press 30 or
40-something seconds, but instead it immediately powers on at 3 minutes or 4 minutes of cooking. I feel bad criticizing this product, and recommend they make a clearer, higher-contrast control panel.
Note: I answered at the end way below that I would definitely recommend G.E. appliances to a friend as a 10 on the scale. But closer to the top of the questions I was asked if I would recommend THIS microwave to a friend and I pressed the NO button.
The review would not post unless I changed the NO to a YES. I DO like G.E. and have owned many of their appliances over time.
I would not recommend this microwave due to the control panel.

Everything is great so far. I like it a lot and it doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. GE appliances are nice, my stove is also a GE.

No kidding, this is the most quiet microwave I have ever had. If you don't take the food out as soon as it is ready, it waits a minute then signals again with just one little beep - unlike my last one that blasted 4 obnoxious beeps if you didn't open the door immediately! I really love this microwave, but would have preferred the black stainless, doesn't show fingerprints. But it coordinates well with my slate stove and fridge - both GE products. Love, love, love them.
