Nice Microwave, but control panel harder to see...

We have only had this unit installed for 3 days now, but it replaced a very similar model that we had for 10 years then it suddenly died. So, we are hoping for at least as much from this unit.
Operation is simple and relatively self explanatory, probably due to having a previous model. Currently, the only complaint I have is that the operations panel is printed in a light grey color instead of bright white, so it is difficult to see in lower light conditions. I would much prefer the bright white printed control buttons like on the old model....

Poor Quality

We bought this microwave due the GE brand and our past good experience with a similar model product. This product has the right foot-print for our countertop and is very convenient to operate. However, the product quality seems to have deteriorated. This time in less than a month of usage, the turn-table started malfunctioning. It made a rumbling sound during rotation and the movement appeared to be jerky. We need to go through the hassle of buying a replacement product now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’d give it a negative 2 if the rating allowed it. I purchased this microwave oven almost a year ago and the warranty is almost expired. It was a cheap unit to begin with and its cheapness shows through. The display is difficult to read in normal lighting conditions as it is not lit when the microwave is activated. The open button is so difficult to operate the unit almost slides around when the door opening is used. The turntable is so noisy that it seems like the unit is about to grind down to almost complete failure.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The inside costing is chipping. So disappointing! This quality of this microwave seems lower than what I expected from GE. We did not use this enough to justify the paint to chip.
