Simple to operate, but hard to open for elderly

The microwave itself is okay, and is simple to operate. Unfortunately, since day one, the button to open the door takes extra effort to push. I bought this for my elderly mother and she has a hard time trying to open the door. Next time I'll look for a microwave with a handle instead of a button to open the door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To open the microwave door, press the center of the button for the door latch release. When pressing in areas off-center and further from center, the door latch is more difficult to operate. It will loosen up upon frequent usage.

Didn’t last a year

Got in May 2023, it’s February 2024 and it suddenly stopped working. Checked the outlets and they were fine. It’s the microwave that stopped working. It didn’t even last a year sadly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
