GE 1.1 Cu. Ft. 950W Mid-Size Coiuntertop Microwave - Stainless Steel (model JES1145SH1SS)
Bought as a replacement for an older GE model that lasted twenty four years (JES1139WL03 -- door switch broke)
Had in now for a month. Works as expected, does everything I need a microwave oven to do. Heats nicely on the rotating plate. Easy to wipe down the interior. The oven operation is not loud. It sounds four beeps when finished cooking, with a single beep to remind you every thirty seconds until you open the door.
I would have preferred a white exterior rather than steel & black. I have a compact, dark apartment kitchen, and I find the button labels are hard to read -- they are in dull grey print over a black background, and I always have to turn the light on to see them. My previous model was black printing on a white background. This is mildly annoying. The green LED display is easy to see.
Like my previous GE model, the kitchen timer feature is very useful. Like my previous model, I wish there was a way to clear an error entry -- there isn't; if you accidentally hit a wrong number, the "clear" button does nothing. The only solution is to just let in run down to zero. Very annoying if you hit 50 instead of 5 minutes.
Annoying all the time is the actual beeper that sounds to lets you know that the timer has finished -- it doesn't end! My old model would beep three times only. This model beeps continually until you go manually clear it. I am sure my neighbors can hear it in the next apartment. This only happens with the kitchen timer feature. This model does not let you mute the beeps in any way.
Like my previous GE model, water does condense along the bottom of the window -- you will want to keep a towel handy to wipe this off, every time. My previous model started to rust there after 8-10 years without getting wiped off.
