I've used Turbo Tax for many, many years. I found 2013 very challenging. For instance it was very difficult to get questions answered regarding why certain deductions weren't allowed this year. Also it was impossible to close a business. Everything I tried just made the return have more and more errors. In the end, I just kept the business opened another year and hope I can get more help from Turbo Tax on how to dispose of a business, and why it kept asking me about getting rid of the vehicle used in the business when I still had it. It was very, very confusing.
What's great about it: Relatively easy when guided by the interview
What's not so great: Difficult to get questions answered; impossible to close a business
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Fast, easy & thorough

Used Home & Business to handle our day jobs plus my side business (LLC). Easy to use and walked us through exactly what we needed in a logical, easily understood method.
What's great about it: Detailed and easy to follow
What's not so great: Can't think of any

LIKE AN EASY BUTTON

I HAVE USED TURBO TAX FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS. I DO PERSONAL, BUSINESS(WE HAVE 2), AND RENTAL UNIT. ONCE I TRIED ANOTHER LESS EXPENSIVE PROGRAM TO SAVE $. BIG MISTAKE.!!. I NEARLY GOT AN ULCER TRYING TO GET THOUGH THE PROGRAM. NOW TURBO TAX IS THE ONLY PROGRAM I WOULD EVER USE. LIFE MADE EASIER.
What's great about it: WALKS ME THOUGH EACH STEP
What's not so great: VERY LITTLE I DON'T LIKE

A little disappointed

When items are input off the 1098 it doesn't show on the step by step. when i re-entered the amount it doubled. I understand why, but it was still a little confusing.
this was my first year filling out the k-1 1065 and boy! what a round I had trying to finally get it to work. A lot of the little rectangles turned red and I had 21 errors to get straight. I hope next year is easier.
Car mileage seems to be one of my problems with TT.
Overall I will continue to use Turbo Tax as I have for around 15 years or whatever. I just thought that this year was harder to do than usual.

Excellent Alternative to an Accountant

I have been using this software since before it was Quicken and all I can say is that it gets better every year. The best feature is been able to upload all your info from the past year and the downloading of all financial info like w2, 1099's of all flavors, etc..
What's great about it: Easy to use, broad coverage
What's not so great: Needs a simulator to examin different cenarios

Overall - they are GREAT at getting the most out of your return. Very easy.
What's great about it: So easy...just too easy!
What's not so great: Couple of explanations were a bit confusing.

Very easy to follow interview process. Easy access to additional schedules. Simple, quick and easy e-filing.
