What's great about it: easy step by step
What's not so great: anytime I do work on a computer is seems like something goes wrong

I used to love turbotax but this year...

I started my return FOUR TIMES because 1.I messed up and decided to start over rather than fix... and that is when I noticed..... 2. I noticed that MORE info had transferred over. so... I 3. tried again.. different info had transferred over ... 4th time.. less stuff transferred so I gave up.
What's great about it: it does keep things organized and that helps a lot
What's not so great: it gets worse every year about transfering info over

2013 Turbo Tax Experience

Turbo tax struggled with my payment of state tax after 2012 state submittal. It took my state pymt as tax withheld. That was ok for the federal but it considered it twax withheld on the 2013 state estimated payment computation.
What's great about it: Thoroughness of the review
What's not so great: Lost my return on startup of Turbo Tax.

Getting Better and Better

I've been using TurboTax since 1995 for me and my two businesses. I can't say it's enjoyable, but I can say it is painless. I'm not a numbers person, so I appreciate the Q&A Format. I can't understand why anybody with a fairly simple tax situation would go to a tax preparer. You have to gather up all the data anyway...TurboTax makes it easy to enter it yourself. You never have to look at a form until it's all done!

I've used Turbo Tax since 1998, I love it but the e-file state cost is higher than some competitors, may try next year.

What's not so great: the jump in state e-file cost way to high

Easy to use

Use to run Turbo and another software together to check the accuracy of my figures. Found errors in the other software so I went only with Turbo Tax.
