Another victorious filing!

I used to do everything by hand, until 7-8 years ago. But TT is the way to go. I was uncertain about how to do the health part, now that Medicare and supplemental is involved, but it was clear and easy. I like that I can go back and look at the forms along with the Easy Steps.
What's great about it: So easy, once you have prepared the back-up documentation.

Good program

overall good language better than competitor I have been using. Being able to change areas due misinterpreting question was more difficult.
What's great about it: simple language to understand most of time
What's not so great: hard to go back and correct if i needed to change some answer I gave

Thorough and easy to navigate

Wow! Honestly, I don't know how any mortal could ever do their taxes by hand:
- find all the right forms
- know all the ends and outs of any form
- find the documentation relevant for each form
- carry forward, correctly, information from year to year

A couple of times I tried to use the index for example to find info about a where to put partnership info from a K-1. I put "K1" into the search field and no info was found but of course, there is K-1 in the topics and I found the information when I searched them by hand.
What's great about it: Does everything: very complete
What's not so great: index didn't find "k1" or maybe "k-1"

When reviewing info already entered from a K-1, etc., some of the questions previously answered have to be answered again. if it's already been done leave it there. I'll change it if necessary.
The program wants to print copies for filing before it asks what I want to do with my refund - apply it to next years taxes, get a check, or auto deposit. Make sure the form is completed with these items before you ask me to print/efile my return.
What's not so great: 1. Make printing easier and not have to go to pdf to do it.

TurboTax saved the day!

I suddenly lost my business deductions. Online there was the same question. I had accidentally checked the box that I had no risk in the business. Online help navigated me back through TT to get to the place to uncheck that box.
What's great about it: Great Online Help
What's not so great: A little hard to navigate backwards without help
