As easy as ever

I've been using Turbo Tax for 10 or years (longer than I can remember) and each year it seems to get easier. Maybe the government is making taxes easier (right) I don't know but I have no reason to think of another way to file!
What's great about it: Easy, Fast, Complete
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Ups & downs

I've used turbo tax for years and love it. Love the way I can start and stop and trust that the turbo tax is current with the most current tax laws and info. But, this time when I attempted to e-file for both state & federal, it wouldn't transmit. I went back through the final steps for hours and couldn't figure out what the problem was. Looked for updates, scrutinized my info. and still no luck so I figured I'd have to mail them. But, I had already paid for the state e-file and the credit card had been charged......I went back in this morning and thankfully it worked. Yeh:-)
What's great about it: Love Turbotax
What's not so great: Wouldn't e-file after several attempts
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Easy Refund

I retired last year and TurboTax walked me through each step of the process. I was concerned at first that the 1099's I received would cost me a bundle, but TurboTax put everything in the right slots and I came away with a big refund. Make me think about adjusting me withholding!
What's great about it: Simple step-by-step input/review
What's not so great: I would like to start earlier
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's great about it: Comprehensiveness, Clear Explanations
What's not so great: Sometimes not intuitive to get back into details if error is made
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax State

E-File rejection from State of Utah stating missing or incorrect 1099 information. After numerous reviews, could not find out what the issue was with respect to missing or incorrect 1099 info. Had to manually override to include Utah tax withholding from one 1099.and not sure if this was the underlying problem. The printed out TC-40W (Electronic W2/1099) reflects the info on the hard copy 1099's. Plus turbo tax accuracy reviews did not find any errors.
Paid for e-file, and Turbo Tax claim to walk you through error correction was nothing but restating what the State stated as the basis for rejection without detail as to what info was missing or in error or which 1099. Turbo Tax fix was to manually file by paper/mail which does not make sense since the same TC-40W submitted electronically was printed out for the hard copy mail in copy (guess the days of attaching actual copy of 1099 are over?). Not sure what I am paying for since Turbo Tax State fell way short of the mark.
What's great about it: Data rollover from Fed
What's not so great: 1099
Pros: I moved

I think some of the terminology needed to be easier to understand. Other than that it went smoothly
What's great about it: questions answered quickly
What's not so great: some terminology difficult to understand
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
