Turbo Tax helps

Turbo Tax is a great help with multiple busineses. However you must check each form after completion to determine if everything has carried forward. Each year I find one or two little items that I have to force. This year I had two 1099 R and one did not carry over the MN State withheld tax of $3,000. Again I had to override to get it to enter. (Also just downloaded the final version so it was up to date)
What's not so great: It seems to jump around and is difficult to follow if your familiar with all the forms.
Always dependable. Makes my tax life far easier than pen and paper any day. However, I did have to switch to Forms view to understand some results (e.g. Schedule D and E loss carryover calculations). ItsDeductible for Charitable Deductions also needs to include option for fair market value. But, overall I came out way ahead. TurboTax also makes it much easier to help my daughter with her taxes. So, many thanks!
What's great about it: Love the step-by-step review process
What's not so great: Hard to understand results of some Schedule D, E calculations
I have used this program for the last 8 years or so. I like it because it will walk you through everything you need to do with your taxes. The only part I had trouble with this year was understanding everything on selling your house. I had to call somebody to help me with that. Will use this program again next year.
What's great about it: It's pretty easy to use. Walks you through everything you need to do.
What's not so great: It was a little had for me to understand the part on selling your house.
after 2-3 rejections, you should offer some sort of live help... not a question box. answers were too generic when specifics on procedures are needed, not interpretations.
TurboTax is OK- I've grown accustomed to that name

Other than having to look up some (rare) data from the prior year TurboTax manually - instead of auto importing them - is my only suggestion for improvement. There were 2 such items this year and I had to open the 2012 TT and had to manually copy them. Not a big deal, but there is always room for improvement.
What's great about it: Straightforward and clear
What's not so great: I wish that some data could be auto imported from prior year
For the most part Turbo Tax makes it easy to file our returns. However, I would suggest that it would be beneficial to see the specific deductions from the previous year so I don't forget anything. Also, the state return for the LLC was difficult to understand with very little explanation along the way.
What's great about it: Walks me through so I don't miss any opportunities.
This product is so valuable. Without these simple steps, to do a return on one's own would require a professional individual. Tax laws are beyond non-tax professional. Without Turbo Tax, the system would be overwhelmed. I shudder when I remember what I used to do before home computers and tax software. Then, it took days. I remember those days of lost production every year when I buy the next Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to follow; quick help access when an answer is needed
What's not so great: Not anything Turbo Tax can correct
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
