Can't get much easier
on April 15, 2014

Really just a walk through the tax system. Answer the questions, Turbo Tax will even tell you what papers to have onhand to facilitate giving the correct answers. Great program. I've been using it for years and always seems to get better. Love it!!!
What's great about it: Just answer the questions. Simple as that.
What's not so great: None, really!
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: Love the ease and thorough, logical processes
What's not so great: Errors are a pain to fix.

The process for prior year carryovers and forwards needs to improve. If I use TurboTax year-over-year, the software should be able to distinguish that fact and not continue to ask if I have any. On one specific page, TurboTax states it will check for carryforwards, but then at the bottom of the page I have to state whether or not I had any. If the Q&A process has to remain the same for new TurboTax users vs existing, you should at least provide (clearly) the form and line number on where to check on the prior year's return to determine if I had any carryovers or forwards instead of having to select links and conduct help searches.

Clear and user-friendly
on April 15, 2014

A couple of years ago I used a different online tax software and felt like it was always asking for money for products. Last year, I did it all by hand. This year, I switched to Turbo Tax after asking for advice on fb and five out of five responses recommended Turbo Tax. You can run on your own if you know exactly what you need or you can have it walk you through it all (as I did). I finished federal in one night and wrapped up state the next day. TT also quickly reduced my stress by letting me know Texas doesn't have income tax currently so I only had to file one state! woohoo! :)
My only problem came when I initially was going to fill out a change of address form, then realized I didn't need it. I tried to go back and say 'no' to filling out the form, but in the error review it kept insisting I had 4 errors due to not filling out the form. I finally filled in with my current address in old and new and it said my errors were fixed. (this form is one you would send separately so it doesn't automatically send it).
Regarding fees, federal was free and the state filing fee was reasonable and easy to complete within the program. They offer a couple of sales pitches, but not constantly and you just say no and they're done.
What's great about it: user-friendly, quick (for taxes!), confident in results, not constantly selling
What's not so great: could not cancel my change of address form
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Pretty Smooth Sailing
on April 15, 2014

Once again, worked pretty smoothly. An annoying thing though is that there was a problem with a field containing my job description being too long. This was flagged as an error. I was asked if I wanted to correct it and the form was displayed, however it would not let me type or clear the field to make the correction. The data was being copied over from the federal form, so I went and found that field on the federal form and shortened it there. That finally worked. It was annoying to have to hunt down the field on the federal form and correct it there. The same error occurred last year using Turbo Tax. It should have been fixed by now.
What's great about it: Easy to Use
What's not so great: Doesn't gather your paperwork for you, lol.
