I have used Turbo Tax for quite a few years. I have tried other software but always go back to Turbo Tax because of its simplicity and accuracy
What's great about it: Loved how simple it was

Overall the product is excellent at prompting for every scenario which is great at making sure things are done properly. But some pages have vague instructions on what to do. They assume that the TP knows what they mean. You need to make things as straightforward as possible, and have much better explanations in your "help" section. Way too brief and still don't answer questions.
What's great about it: Love how it does everything for you
What's not so great: Some sections are not explained well

Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Good, but not always user friendly

A more easy to navigate interface when editing would make my review better. I had to go through numerous steps numerous times to fix one or two information items. In addition, several forms that resulted from comprehensive walk throughs, but were blank or didnt apply to my return appeared. It was difficult to navigate to and delete them.
What's great about it: excellent step by step explanations and walk throughs
What's not so great: difficult to navigate around to edit. Very tough time deleting the extra forms that resulted from navigating through all
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

all great except for completing form 8949

As usual. tax preparation went smotthly but then hit the 8949 and thr recovered costs. Etrade has all the costs and even when I downloaded the ccosts where shown. But I could not get the exact match of the three sections, long term, short term and noncovered. Finally I found my way to a spot for entering the data and I backed into the cost of the noncovered. I found my way to that spot in the information on the web but at this hour I cannot remember where. Perhaps it was in turbo tax user comments.
I note that in the Turbo conversations many asking about getting toi the form 8949. You cannot get to 8949 via the SCH d but it appears you can.
see ya next year.
What's not so great: Completion of form 8949
