It is like having an accountant

Have used turbo Tax since it first came out...it has gotten better each year since it first started...
What's great about it: It is like having an accountant to answer your questions

Simple and accurate

I have been using Turbo Tax for years and I will not use any other tax program. It's simple, accurate and I feel very at ease using the program. I will recommend this program to everyone I know..

Best tax preparing season ever.

An inexperienced person like myself will find the step-by-step guidance foolproof. My husband and I were able to finish quickly and accurately. Best tax season ever.
What's great about it: Step by Step counseling and ease of deductions.
What's not so great: Don't have any

This years TurboTax is the worst ever.
I have used TurboTax For 15 to 20 years and this years was the most confusing yet. If you want to change something or skip it till later it is almost impossible to find. Each subject is devided into several small pages and you can't saa the whole subject while you are still working on it.
My tax situation has not changed in 15 years but this years pages and instructions are the worst by far.

What's great about it: Not much. I can't think of one thing.
What's not so great: the pages are broken and disjointed. The directions are confusing and if you look for help you get a 250 page file

Overall had better, easier experience with turbo tax this year. It could be that I am more familiar now with what info is being asked for and how to apply it after using it for 4 years. Explainations could be more detailed with examples that may help me understand the tax code in a simpler, clearer way
What's not so great: Need to have full, detailed list on what can be written off on expenses or link to IRS website
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Pretty good software. Fairly expensive, and you get a real hit if you want to e-File your state taxes. Be prepared to pay for the convenience.
What's great about it: Moves you along in a fairly orderly manner.
What's not so great: Still has issues with business returns regarding cost of goods.
