Because we are military, I had to pay the extra money for two states. Unfortunately, one of the states will not print the correct forms and supporting documents. I need Virginia 763-S and all supporting documents but when I go to print all that prints is the instruction page. This is very frustrating. I feel like I was short changed. I will definitely think twice next year about which tax software product to purchase.
What's great about it: Fairly straight forward and easy to use.
What's not so great: Virginia 763-S and supporting documents will not print.
The world has gone mad with this FLAT display (call it stuff)! I had 4 others look at the screens and ALL had trouble reading them. I have been using TurboTax from day one, howefver if TTax 2014 has same look as this I WILL canclel my membership.....
Also why the long delays when navigating between some of the sections? There was NO indication of activity, however it finally would complete whatever was going on.
What's great about it: Typical thoroughness'
What's not so great: Excessive eye strain and headaches trying to read the screen
Used it for years love it easy to use. Home & Business has a few bugs. This is the 2nd time won't let me e-file my state return. When window to pay for e-filing opens it says the session is timed out.
What's great about it: easy to use very helpfful
What's not so great: Used it for years 2nd time won't let me efile state
I had a unusal circumstance and i couldnt find the answer in your "help" area. It was unique, but I had to search different resources to get help and it slowed my filing process down. All and all, this is my second year using turbo and I do enjoy the format.
What's great about it: easy to navigate through
What's not so great: some tax questions were not addressed
Caught two problems with TT. 1. Trying to enter shared cost of energy saving equipment (high efficiency hot water). TT referred me to Line 8 of Form 5695. This is the wrong line. TT would not calculate the correct ($150 total) deduction if actual costs inserted. Manually doing Form 5965 results in $150 credit. 2. TT did not automatically fill in the deduction for contributions to federal retirement plan under MA tax Form 1. Incorrectly only counted Medicare taxes withheld. Did not add in contributions to CSRS retirement plan, which would result in maximum deduction of $2000. TT auto fill resulted in less than $2000. Had to go into Forms and correct the form manually to get the proper deduction.
What's great about it: easy to enter via questions
What's not so great: don't know if Turbo Tax is getting it right. Hard to correct known errors.
