Overall I am very pleased with Turbo Tax software.

I have been using your tax program for about 15 years and this is the worst. Will not let you just mail in a return no way

I've been using TurboTax for the past 8 years and it seems to get easier and easier every year. It is so easy to use, the directions are clear and concise, and with the guaranteed biggest refund and Audit Defense, why would you use any other service or software?
What's great about it: So easy to use!
What's not so great: Can't think of any.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good for simple small business

I've used TTax for years and it's great for a simple consulting business like mine. It's not so simple in years when I might be doing something less routine, e.g. selling a car and paying back part of prior years' deductions.
It needs to be watched--and got around in some cases. For example, it took me about a half hour to figure out how to get rid of a K-1 form for an investment I sold two years ago. It also had made up its own mind about much time I spent in my home office, which was incorrect. So your own careful review is essential.
It's no substitute reviewing tax law, so caution is advised.
One thing I do wish it would do is estimate taxes based on actual earnings each quarter, i.e. be useful all year long rather than just at the end.
What's great about it: Puts numbers in the right places; prompts for routine entries
What's not so great: Difficult to make some changes; much is opaque
Pros: I bought or sold investments

turbo tax 3013

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. They just keep getting better and easier to use. Keep it up. The e-file is awesome. I was a professional tax preparer for 30 years (retired now) and loving that I don't have to use a very detailed professional program anymore. Turbo tax is my program of choice.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: couldn't really find any cons

I've been using Turbo-Tax for almost 30 years. I wouldn't do my taxes any other way. The federal / state / local integration is a great feature and saves me lots of time every year.
What's great about it: The interview method is the best -- it makes sure that I don't miss anything.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

While this entire process makes filing so much easier, I would appreciate more explanation about why Turbo Tax determines a particular issue, i.e., Standard Deduction versus Itemized.
I would appreciate seeing the actual comparison based on data submitted.at that point of determination so I could better understand the process. Another example, for me, was getting the specific explanation as to why Home Business Deduction was no longer available to me: what drives that decision - income, expenses, etc.?
What's great about it: The questions via step by step made it easy.
What's not so great: Some of the answers never show up on the actual forms.
