I chose the option to efile both my federal and state returns and the program would not allow me stating i needed to update the program - I did 3 times at the beginning of the program - and it stated no updates were available…not happy!

1099 improvement requests

I was very frustrated when TurboTax would not find last year's 1099 file, then it pulled it in unexpectedly when I went to start a 'new' file. Then when I tried to find the current file again so I could e-file it, I again had to start by opening a NEW file to find the current year file I had been working on. There is no option to 'open' the current unfinished 1099 file. Additionally, there is no way to file 1099s with my state, which is a requirement.
What's great about it: e-file 1099s easy
What's not so great: difficult to retrieve unfinished file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

My 2014 experience with turbo tax

turbo tax has always been a good site for me. I have used them for years.
It is fairly easy to find tax charts that pertains to my needs, even though I have unique exemptions and deductions due to the type of work I do.
State and City tax prep is iffy, but my state is screwy anyway. They are constantly changing their rules and regulations, ane are VERY slow in posting new forms. Overall I feel that I get a better result here than with the tax prep people( 90 day wonders) that have no experience with anyone except the 9-5 workers with no special deductions.

Been using turbo tax since 1982 - before that thought it was hard and used CPA's which can really collect fees at tax season.Just pay for the turbo tax cd - terrifically great - Thanks

TurboTax Does It Again!

I have used the TurboTax Home and Business version for the past two years for my small business. It has asked more questions and found more deductions than my CPA ever did in the past. I have been very pleased and encourage everyone I know to give TurboTax a try.
What's great about it: Simple and easy to use; maximizes deductions
What's not so great: Does not have separate entry for timber sales

TurboTax is a stable product. It will guide through the process with few distractions.
What's great about it: TurboTax is very intuitive.
