What's great about it: Show me what I would owe if I had no deductions

Must be some quick way I need to assess if i should take the "standard" deduction; to save me a lot of time.

although it was nice that it automatically filled out my estimated taxes, I thought the program would ask me if I expected to make more or less money

I love TurboTax and have used for many years! Easy and much more affordable than the big name companies that prepare taxes for you
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I flowed smoothly through the process then for the first time in 4 years the software would not allow me to submit my tax return.
What's great about it: The ease of doing it from home
What's not so great: I couldn't e-file. UG!

Quick and Easy

Turbotax walks you through filing your taxes painlessly. It is just as tuned as if going to a professional
What's great about it: Walked through return. Also had detail comments on items I questioned
What's not so great: Sometimes, hard to find a specific topic that I wanted to review in detail

Hard to work with state incomes

My spouse and I live in WA state...no income tax. My wife works in Oregon..income tax. I have a job in WA state and a business in WA state. No matter what/how I try the tax program will not separate business income from the personal income. End up paying income tax on business income in OR. Your help is useless in this circumstance. Need professional assistance at times...not opinions from the public.
What's great about it: Great for self help filer
What's not so great: Crossing state borders married income not very fiendly
