Easy To Use

Every year it seems to get easier and easier to prepare my taxes. This year I was able to do some pretty complicated taxes in about 3 hours. In the past, it has taken a whole week-end to complete.
What's great about it: Quick & Easy
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

My biggest complaint is moving around. I can't go back to a specific screen if I need to make a correction. I have to go back and reanswer the same questions to get to the specific screen I want. Also, why does it ask about carry over information. All of that should have been carried over when transferring information from last years taxes. why do I have to go back and try and find a form with that talks about passive activity losses or at risk carryovers. It was obviously in last years taxes, why doesn't turbotax find and transfer info to current year.
What's great about it: better than others on the market, but still not quite 5 stars

Long Time User - 2013 Is The Worst Version Yet

I don't have the most straight-forward tax situation, but I also don't have anything crazy difficult, either. The program functioned well enough, but there were times I could not tell if information entered elsewhere was brought forward or not. Then, when I would try to return to look at the information I had previously entered, I could not go back to a precise location. When I click "Back," I want to go Back to the previous screen. Sometimes this program would go back to the proper screen, other times it would go "Back" to some other category instead. Very frustrating. I had to restart from scratch on more than one occasion because I could not tell what information it was picking up and what it was not. Sometimes I ended up with information entered twice, other times information I knew I had entered did not show up at all. Pretty frustrating this year.
What's great about it: Fast Calculations, Reasonably Thorough Walk-Through
What's not so great: Impossible to actually go back in some instances and make changes. Can't tell what has been included from other forms.

Easy to use

I love using Turbo Tax. This is my 4th year using TT. I am not overly experienced with doing taxes, although I fully understand the process, so I love that TT walks me through every little thing so that I do not miss something important.
We do not have very complicated taxes and using a service was getting too expensive so I love that it is economical to use as well as easy.
Thank you for making it so user friendly.

Effective Tax Rate Calculation Bogus

As always, TurboTax makes doing my taxes easy. It almost seems easier than last year.
The one big thing that I feel is not good with TurboTax is the 2013 Federal Tax Return Summary section. According to the IRS's definition the "Effective Tax Rate" that TurboTax comes up with is consistently off the mark. This year it said we had a 3.18% rate when the IRS definition has a much higher rate. You need to do a better job in this area in either defining what you're using for the calculation or get in line with the IRS's calculation.

Love, Love, Love Turbotax!

I've used TurboTax for about 15 years and wouldn't use anything else. It's fast, efficient, answers all my questions and works with every level of income!
