As a long-time user of Turbotax, (actually from the beginning of TurboTax software), this was the easiest version to use, most comprehensive support data to help decide what tax forms to use, and a streamlined e-filing procedure for both federal and state returns; all make 2013 a winner in my mind.
Ken Anderson
What's great about it: Better explanations and guidance for all tax forms
What's not so great: First page of state return should not show an edit button, only confusing step for me.
Been using this product for over 10 years now and it keeps getting better and more streamlined. The product is solid -- I have never seen it crash once and I have complicated business /securities taxes to do.
Would recommend this for anyone with at least some accounting interest to at least try it --- it walks you through the whole process.
The product integrates very well with a variety of products/hosts for handling data processing/importing and the financial transactions.
Try it -- it is well worth the price.
What's great about it: Solid Product -easy from start to finish - including the financial transactions
What's not so great: Only con is the 2.49% charge to use a credit card --not worth it -snail mail is fine if I am giving them some $
I have used TurboTax since it first became available. I love the option of going through it step by step or choosing my own starting point. I can work on it a little every day until it is completed.
Thanks!
What's great about it: Walks you through each step in detail.
What's not so great: Had difficulty returning to some of the screens to add info. I should have used more flags.
I had to pay for my State E-File, bought new so should have been or so I thought, or mail it in. I'm going to have to take time out of my day tomorrow to mail it. I'll find an alternative way next year to do my returns.
What's great about it: Fast, Easy
What's not so great: No Free E-File
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
The tax code seems to have become much more complex than in prior years. I found it much more difficult than the 2012 returns. TurboTax can only make it so easy. The vehicle section I found difficult. It needs some simplification. I use the Home/Business TurboTax. There seems to be a glitch that allows one to slip by the Schedule C. Start your taxes in January!
What's great about it: It's complete and for the most part easy to follow. TurboTax seems to keep up with changes in the tax code
What's not so great: I completely missed the Schedule C and all of my business expenses. I couldn't find my way back .
TurboTax instilled confidence but was not as simple to navigate as TaxCut and is not as intuitive. I have confidence I attained maximum refund and audit protection.
What's great about it: Instilled confidence of accuracy & low audit chance
What's not so great: Not as easy to navigate and not as intuitive as other programs
