I use the Home & Business version to file my main job and my photographic business. i also have a K-1 and deduct a mortgage but other than that, my taxes are straighforward. Pro: Turbotax makes it easy to include what I need and not to miss anything. Con: This year's version seemed to take me to areas that were totally unrelated to my situation (such as all the farm income questions). If I had to revisit a section, I didn't see an easy way to navigate to a specific subsection and then return to the sub section I had just left. I may have missed some navigation button, but it seems other years UI was more intuitive to visit sections more randomly. Overall, I highly rate Turbotax and I will use it again next year.
What's great about it: Copies information from last years taxes.
What's not so great: Not easy to navigate to a section without repeating questions from other sections
my cedit card was changed before returns were sent. then Turbo Tax could not send the return.
The error on Schedule A/B new jersey state on date of sale of residence. date did not carry forward, and cound not be enterred without a new line being added automatically. I could not electronically file on 4/14. the error I mention is noted on your on the on-line posting without a fix.
SO what do you think about that.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments
I like Turbo-Tax but, I wish you would add a feature to allow to scan a document to support data inputs. Similar to the flag system have a scan spot to help save all those pieces of data so real paper can go away.
I have been using TurboTax for the past 5 years, I love how everything is explained which has helped me put together all my info for my taxes each year.
What's great about it: Love that I can do my own taxes for my hubby who is self employed
What's not so great: sometimes I don't understand something and have to stop to research
I'm not sure why but the pdf wouldn't populate the information from last years return. When I saved this years the only option was pdf so I am hoping this doesn't happen again next year. Otherwise I like the step by step questions.
What's great about it: easy to use, like the steps
What's not so great: the pdf file I saved from last year didn't auto populate into this years return
