More Confusing Than Ever

Tax laws that changed from previous years were not explained or highlighted. Rental income was entered twice, but there was no explanation as to why. My AGI went up instead of down as it has in previous years - again, no explanation as to the change. TurboTax made entries on my State return, but expected me to know what the transferred information was. I was to type in the description and managed to finally find the answer, but if the transfer is being done automatically then the description should have transferred along with the amount. Found this year's product to be more confusing than previously.
What's great about it: The question format
What's not so great: Not explaining things thoroughly

Turbotax is Great

I have used TurboTax for many years and makes filing taxes a lot easier. It walks you through every step. I feel confident that I have received the best outcome.

No one likes doing their taxes, but if you have to do it yourself this is the way to go.
What's great about it: Walks you through in an easy fashion
What's not so great: It's a lot of form filling

Buggy

When I entered 1099-MISC info in the business section, they did not show in the personal section. Eventually, everything was synchronized, but it was troubling to see entries I made in one section not show in another.
What's great about it: Familiar Interface
What's not so great: Poor communication between Business and Personal sections

Trouble with vehicle expenses

I went around in circles many times to get the vehicle expenses sorted out for schedule C. The message talks about an IRS form 2016, but there's nowhere in the software to figure out what's going on, or even see the worksheet that's hidden under the covers somewhere.
Just kept trying various things until the error messages went away - but I have no confidence that I actually got it right :-(

I like Turbo Tax and have used it for 17 years. The telephone support is very good.
What's great about it: Makes Taxes Easier
What's not so great: Difficult to undo Extension and maneuver between inputs

AFTER MANY SATISFIED YEARS WITH TT , THIS YEAR FELL VERY SHORT WITH THE UPDATE PROBLEMS WITH THE MAC VERSION. CAUSED A LOT OF ANXIETY AND EXTRA WORK.
NOT SURE I WILL DO THIS AGAIN AS THERE ARE SEVERAL ALTERNATIVES.
What's great about it: GOOD WALK THROUGH,
What's not so great: I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE MAC VERSION UPDATES....VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH TURBO TAX PREMIUM

Simply the Best

There simply isn't a better tax software package on the market! Each year I fear that the IRS is finally going to stick it to me, but Turbo Tax saves me money every time.
What's great about it: Does all the difficult work for
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
