Marked a number as estimated on Federal return but federal review did not find this error. The state review found the error but in a location I could not change the estimated value. Finally had to find the estimated number myself manually. I will never mark a number estimated in the future. They have caused problems for me in previous years of Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Familiar
What's not so great: Failed to catch estimated number with Federal review
I have been a Turbo Tax user for nearly ten years and it has been an "easy-breezy" process each time. I consistently recommend the software to friends, family and colleagues.
What's great about it: I like that I am asked whether I want to pursue deductions on my own or if I want the software to guide the process.
I've been using T-Tax for many years and just love it. Never, ever, had any trouble with it. It really kept me outta the red on my business taxes. Direct deposit is a god send for a small business. I have nothing but praise for T-Tax.
What's great about it: easy and accurate
What's not so great: none i know of
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
Easy to use, intuitive and interactive; TurboTax walks you through everything you need to know step by step. I've been using TurboTax for about 10 years and it saves me a ton in CPA fees.
What's great about it: Anticipates ahead of time what I need to know
What's not so great: Wish the price would come down
Pleased to see a simpler format for this year. Glad to see the Defense Program is still in place. Questions and supporting information really helped me out this year.
What's great about it: Guided Process, Ease of Carryover
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
I have no complaints with the program or the results. I filed with TurboTax in 2009, 2010, and 2011. I returned to TurboTax and completed my 2013 Fed tax return after using a CPA in 2012, when I opted for filing with S-Corp election.
What's great about it: The program is easy to understand and walk through. It's not difficult to find and review forms and worksheets.
What's not so great: Some calculation worksheets could not be easily found for clarification.
The more you rely on Turbo Tax, the more helpful it is. It's great to have old information at your fingertips as you fill in the numbers for the new year. So much better than starting from scratch, and the software helps you plan for the following year -- if you listen.
What's great about it: TurboTax knows our habits, our patterns, our family, and anticipates expenses, deducations, credits.
What's not so great: Nobody to reassure you in person that everything is o.k. at the end of the usual scramble to April 15.
