A lotta typing

I was still confused on a few entries as to what to actually enter, but I just plowed on and they were corrected if I mis-entered items; this applied specifically to dividends etc.
What's great about it: was led through the process with mostly good leading questions with many faq opportunities
What's not so great: I felt I should have had instructions for actual steps, keystrokes, etc to take at the beginning for pausing and restart
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Made the Complex Simple

As a CPA retired, I am impressed by how this software handles every contingency so well, and unlike me, it doesn't forget useful stuff. I am convinced this helps me to pay taxes accurately, but minimally.
What's great about it: Made it so much easier to handle home office and other expenses of a small business
What's not so great: Can't think of any
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I like it, but then I've been using it for the last ten or so years. It's fairly easy to use if you pay attention. I like the ability to download info.
What's great about it: it keeps data from prior years
What's not so great: Doesn't click through

My overall option is that Turbo Tax is an excellent method of calculating and filing taxes. I have used it for many years.
What's great about it: importing capability of financial data
What's not so great: could not use cloud option because of significant number of brokerage transactions
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Longstanding problems continue - -

What I'd like step by step to do:
a) When I save my return to return later, I'd like to return to the same spot. Or at least have the option to do that. This has never been the case. Still isn't.
b) When I go through a long list of steps to just get to one list that has a change in it I have to go through all the lead up questions that have already been answered. SOMETIMES it shows me my previous answer by default so I just need to 'next' through. But not always and it can catch you unaware and screw things up. Please always put my prior answer in as a default. Better yet, give me a list of where to jump into the dialog, which would keep all answers leading up to that point the same as previously answered.
c) In California, there are many areas of adjustment. Why not say "Last year you adjusted xyz - do you want to revisit that this year?"
Fix these and I'll never complain again. This year.
What's great about it: Fairly good software. I've used it over 15 years now.
What's not so great: Step by step is the only way to go, but it's very clunky

correcting errors can be a bit of a challenge. Could be more helpful in AMT and carry forwards.
What's great about it: transfer of prior year info; maintaining information
What's not so great: errors on line items automatically input by system
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
