Awesome Improvements!

Have used TurboTax for years now! Love the convenience and cost of the program and e-filing! 2013 software improvements made this year easier than ever, plus live telephone assistance from fast and friendly tax experts took the pain out of having to wait for long call-backs from previous years.
What's great about it: Easy to find tax answers and excellent and speedy customer service
What's not so great: Difficulty accessing software file (technical glitches in program)

Software Glitch Cost Me Hours

I have used Turbotax for many years without a problem.
This year I I found a software glitch that cost me hours. I completed my taxes in the online business version, but imported info from previous years couldn't be overridden. This caused an error that would have gotten the return rejected.
I ended up having to download the desktop version, and the completed 2013 file couldn't be imported. (The desktop version can only import 2012.) I had to re-enter all of my info from the beginning.
What's great about it: Imports info from previous years
What's not so great: Some of the imports can't be overridden

Issues, issues, issues

While I've always found Turbo Tax user-friendly, and I feel I always get the maximum refund, this year for some reason both of the returns I prepared (mine and my daughter's) were unable to be filed electronically, which I find a major pain the the tush, since I was able to efile for the last several years with no problems. Sigh.
What's great about it: Walked me through all of the forms
What's not so great: Problems with eFiling

turbotax maxed my refund

I have been using Turbotax Home and Business edition for many years now. Each year the program seems easier to use. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to do their taxes without paying high accountant fees.
The program has a built-in It's Deductible program to allow you to capture the most for donations to organizations. Only drawback is that I wish the program pulled over my previous year's self-business description fields, or allowed me to look back at them. Otherwise it is great!
What's great about it: Ease of walking thru sections, Built in It's Deductible
What's not so great: Wish it would pull over previous year's self business field description

Easier Than Ever

As always, this program is complete and helpful. It gives plenty of opportunities (almost too many?) to double check your submissions for the most accurate filing. The explanations of the rules and the occasional denials of refunds are clear and straightforward. I've been an independent contractor (self employed) in multiple states, and have always used this program to file my own taxes. If you are patient enough to prepare properly, this program is the way to go.

Turbo Tax

I have been using Turbo Tax now for perhaps 20 years or so and now this one was my daughter's and she was quite happy.
What's great about it: Questions were easy to follow
