I WILL CONTINUE TO USE TURBO-TAX, I HAVE CONFIDENCE IN MY FILING, BESIDES ITS CHEAPER THAN LEAVING THE COUNTRY
What's great about it: I'VE USED TURBO-TAX FOR MANY YEARS AND IT MAKES A DISASTER MORE 'SMILEY"
What's not so great: HAD A PROBLEM WITH PRINTING THE FORMS...SEEMS AS IF THE SELECTION WAS NOT RESPONSIVE BUT HEY, I HAVE WINDOWS 8

Really great software! Love the online help. The education expenses could use a little more detailed explanation to help a parent in college with multiple kids in college but online support helped fill the gap!
What's great about it: simple, walks you through, and double checks!

Thorough with inconsistencies

Contributing refunds to the Oregon 529 plan is automated, yet the fund managers were unaware & the data masks did not conform.
What's great about it: step by step guided process
What's not so great: Oregon state organizations not aware of many of their state's taxation requirements. Feedback loops needed
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Line 29 and the 1040

The ability to enter in line 29 for self employed individuals to claim the amount paid for health insurance is much, much, too hard. You can override but then it will not efile the return.
Yes there is an error - with your software!

CA State could be better, but still good software

The "California Adjustments" section for the CA State form didn't provide much guidance. I felt like I was left to sort all of those on my own. This is very different from the helpful approach of the Federal section.
Still, a reasonably good app.
What's great about it: Gets taxes done efficiently. eFiling is great.

Difficult entries

Too many issues of not allowing to go back to revise entries. Wasted too much time and finally started a new return all over. Disappointed wit Intuit
What's great about it: Generally worked okay
What's not so great: Does not allow going back to Schedule C Health Deductions
