Great Help!

This was a very easy way to do taxes this year. I have used Turbo Tax for years at my office and have never had any trouble. Always easy filing. There were some changes in our tax status this year, but all our questions were answered.
What's great about it: Very easy to understand and use.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This is the 5th year I've used TurboTax and it's saved me sizable $$ over a tax preparer fees
What's great about it: good step-by-step process through income and deductions. Ability to import donations through ItsDeductible
What's not so great: Got hung up in arcane details of K-1 forms asking for info the partnership didn't provide
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

unable to file electronically

i Received a K-1 from The Blackstone Group, a public company. On the k-1 under foreign investments the country was labeled as "various" which is also an option in Turbo Tax. However, I was not able to e-file because it kept giving me an error message telling me I had to break the foreign transactions down by country. Since the K-1 didn't break it down it was impossible for me to solve the Turbo Tax error.
i finally had to print and file by mail.

2013 Turbo Tax

I use Turbo Tax every year. This year, Turbo Tax did not identify the relationship between home utility costs and the percentage allowed for home office. I had to dig to find the form.
What's great about it: Easy to follow interview questions
What's not so great: Didn't identify relationship of home utility costs and percentage allowed for home office

too many errors

software skipped sections causing several redos. I hope the return is accurate. Had to print several times to get legible copy for filing. (took several hours merely to print) I have used turbo Tax for 18 years, 2012 and 2013 tax years the software has been difficult. I am using Windows 8.1 and Turbo Tax Home and Business. I would not recommend turbo tax Home and Business .

I imported income from my Quick Books, then it asked me for the 1099's, but 1099's are my income.

2013 Tax Filing Experience

Using this product provided me awesome options. I file for Dad who is 91. Assisting my almost, pretend she is, second daughter who is disabled with MS took a lot of stress away from both of us. And finally, myself. I started a Notary Signing Business two years ago and working through my questions as well as having the support I need readily available is quite the Joy. I love it!
What's great about it: Concise questions make it an ease to get through. Availability to assist other family members & friends (Dad is 91)
What's not so great: Found it difficult to get back to file the extension but was finally successful.
