Fickle Filer

I used to pay my accountant to do my taxes for years, only to find out he was giving my info to his mother who was doing the filing. I knew he was using some software, which I assumed was out of reach for the individual filer. When I found out about Turbo Tax, and how cheap it was, I gave it a try.
Cut to the chase, I should've done this years ago!

What's great about it: If you can answer the question, like did you move last year, you can do it!
What's not so great: I hate doing my taxes

Stress relieving

I have used Turbo Tax for years. I feel comfortable with the software and how it is laid out. I am always relieved when it is over, but I also know that is was productive use of my time.

I have used Turbo Tax for about 5 yrs. It keeps skipping forms that's needed. It is the worse program. If I didn't know taxes I would have been screwed. I'll be searching for another program next year

Have been using Turbo Tax for a number of years and have tested against professional preparers. Although my taxes have never been complicated I am more confident preparing with Turbo Tax than paying to have them prepared. I try to prepare my taxes early but file late and frequently either remember things I have missed or pickup tips from other sources. My tests against professional tax preparers have always come up in Turbo Tax favor.
What's great about it: User friendly, just follow the trail to the end.
What's not so great: Found it a little difficult to return to specific spots.

Has consistently been helpful with deductions.
What's great about it: Suggested deductions for which we did not know we were entitled and reviewed deductions from previous year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

No Stress or Low Stress Tax Prep

I used to do my taxes on my own. It was an agonizing days-long process and my kids would totally avoid me when I was doing them (I'm sure I had a deranged look about me from all the stress). Thankfully, TurboTax has done a great job of making the process easier, more comprehensible, and less stressful.
My only problem was with downloading the state which messed up everything so I couldn't proceed. The tech people were great and worked with me (eventually getting me to someone who was a Mac expert). SUGGESTION: TurboTax have special instructions for those doing it on Macs to avoid the problem.
Otherwise a great experience, especially compared to the agony I used to suffer every year at tax time.

What's great about it: Clear step by step guidance and really works to get the best results. Great tech and program support!
What's not so great: Problems with a glitch in state tax download on a Mac. Resolved by great tech help from a Mac expert.
