Potential Improvements

A. Sometimes, TurboTax asks me stupid questions such as:
1. "Do you want to fill out your state taxes now?" even though it knows I live in a state that has no state taxes.
2. "What was on Line xxx of your previous year's tax return" even though it knows exactly what it put on Line xxx of my previous year's return.
B. If I find additional info, or a mistake I made earlier, and I need to go back to a particular section to update it, I have a hard time finding that section and then must go through too many screens to get to the exact screen I need to fix.
C. When it goes thru its error-checking process at the end, it finds too much missing information that it should have filled out the first time we went through that section.
D. It should warn me in advance if it looks like we're going to be wasting our time checking out whether or not certain potential deductions are going to be of any use to me. For example, I wasted hours calculating and inputting my kid's $20,000 in college tuition payments, my $2,000 in charity contributions, and my $500 in medical bills only to have Turbotax tell me effectively "You made way too much money for those deductions to come into play.". It should have warned me we'd probably be wasting our time in advance.
E. My nickname is Bob. Why does this form not accept that? If it's not going to accept my nickname, why doesn't it tell me in advance that it wants a "unique User ID", not a nickname, and provide details of the requirements of that "User ID"?
What's great about it: Much easier than doing my taxes manually
What's not so great: There are imperfections.

Works as good or better this year than any other previous years.
Only complaint is with GUIDE ME process. Once you finish with a topic, you are sent to the TOP of the screen to continue. Instead, you should be positioned at the bottom of the screen where you will be working or the next topic GUIDE ME has selected.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: WShen using GUIDE ME, screen always jumps back to the beginning of a section. Should be at the end.

This is my fourth year using Turbo Tax. Every year I dread tax time, as most people do, but once I get started with Turbo Tax those hesitations disappear. I have done my homework with all of my records and categories printed up. My wife and I are performers by trade, therefore, I submit both 1040 and Schedule C's for both of us. Turbo Tax has made it very easy to process all of this information.
Thank you!
What's great about it: Ease of use. Step-by-step guide.
What's not so great: Not applicable.

I have an investment in a domestic MLP with business also conducted in both Canada and Mexico. Turbo tax required separate input of K-1s for each non-domestic country. It would be far easier to provide input from one K-1 which contains foreign operations in more than one country rather than requiring a separate K-1 for each foreign operation.
What's not so great: More than one International Business from K-1
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
