I have been using Turbotax for at least 25 years and these folks stay on top of tax changes. They also make it easy for the average person to do his taxes without having to look up much. Get your records together and fill in the blanks. The only thing that would make it easier would be to eliminate the 16th amendment but that probably is not going to happen.
What's great about it: easy for the business owner who is not familiar with tax law
What's not so great: always seem to be a few minor glitches
Able to start and finish my return in a few hours with some pre-tax prep organization. TTax walk thru is both through for someone like me.. relative easy to understand and execute.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and execute question
I had a hard time with errors because the software kept insisting I had 2 home offices and wanted me to enter a # for the 2 home offices, but I only had 1. There were things that I deleted that still showed up in the return. Overall a great program though! It's pretty simple to get through, even though our return this year was pretty complex.
What's great about it: DIY and guides you through everything
What's not so great: Not all questions have answers
I feel that Turbo Tax accurately calculated my tax return. I can't say the same for my ex-accountant. It was sometimes difficult to figure out where to put information into my very small businesses but I finally figured out how to get it in there. I thing that could be made easier for those of use with businesses of only one or two thousand a year. We don't always know the business terms to use and it is difficult to figure out where to put the information.
What's great about it: It didn't make the mistakes that my (ex) accountant did
What's not so great: I had information that I knew where it went on the form but didn't know how to get it into Turbo Tax
