Turbo Tax 2013

I have used Turbo Tax for years and have always thought it was a good program. This year I was disappointed to learn that the Deluxe version no longer supports reporting of capital gains from sales of stocks and mutual funds as in previous years, so one has to upgrade to Premier version (more $$). For our personal return, which includes income from self-employment, I have always been able to use the Deluxe version to prepare the Schedule C. This year we had to purchase the Home and Business Edition--a huge price difference. Turbo Tax--we're disappointed in these changes!
What's great about it: Accurate, Easy to Use
What's not so great: Had to upgrade to more expensive program this year due to Turbo Tax changes in pricing and format
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Overall the easiest way to file a return.
I would like to see an easier way to revisit the business applications. I needed to make a mileage change and had to go through the complete return
What's great about it: Fairly easy with let us guide you
What's not so great: New computor no information access to previous returns

There are a few new things this year that you aren't able to unclick and these are the very things that caused my audit risk to be higher than in years passed.
What's great about it: Walks you through every step
What's not so great: It's all still a little over my head

2013 Filing

I was very pleased with the way it handled all of the activity with moving from a full time employee to retirement status, the 401K rollovers, beginning of pension.
On the con side, I independently had signed up for Tax Audit coverage for 2013. It would have been good to have that as a selection option at the end rather than just the yes or no. Now I have to double check to insure my coverage is in place. I'm assuming it is but I need to make sure. One more step.
What's great about it: Handled beginning of my retirement and 401K roll over
What's not so great: Tax Audit Sign Up
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Been using TurboTax for many years. First time that I had to call in with a question. Left call-back # - called back in 5 minutes. Resolved questions very quickly
What's great about it: great customer service

We have a business, have had rental property in another state, have a vacation home, and are now partially retired. Turbo Tax makes filing easy, for all of the situations.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax asks all the right questions.
What's not so great: No cons.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

No Headache Tax filing
on March 3, 2014

I was thankful for the ability to upgrade my original purchase to the Home & Office version for a more complete tax filing and a decrease in the amount that we owed. Filing two state taxes was simplified. No headache this time.
What's great about it: See refund or due amount at all times
What's not so great: small print
