Foreign Tax Credit

The input of K-1 information was not clear nor complete. Error messages were not clear as to how to resolve the problem the error message presented. I spent days trying to work the Foreign Tax Credit exception and never received an answer from Turbo Tax but rather instructions that didn't resolve the problem.
What's not so great: Program did not present option to bypass Form 1116

Turbo Tax Home and Business

I am an independent contractor and could not do my own taxes without this program. I have used Turbo Tax for quite a few years now....it's an excellent software program.
What's great about it: Easy to follow steps. Detailed instructions if needed.
What's not so great: Cost...but still cheaper than a professional tax preparer

This is my second year using Turbo Tax for Business an it did a great job.

What Happened?!

I don't know what happened to the system this year but it is so bogged down that after clicking an icon it would take at least 3 minutes to complete my selection. In previous years I could go back and forth to make adjustments and it not put me behind but this year was terrible.
What's great about it: I like the step by step system that I can go through to type in my deductions
What's not so great: the system is so slow it took 5 times as long to do my taxes this year than it has in the last 6 years

Just about perfect

An excellent product. I'll wait to see if the IRS likes it. The on-line CPA (a real person) was outstanding. Improve AMT screens and explanation.
What's great about it: I liked the menus leading me thru the return
What's not so great: more explanation of AMT. Assigning AMT status to capital gains or losses not well explained

AWESOME

I own a voice studio, which includes my personal performance and private lesson income. Turbo Tax made it so easy to report my business vehicle expenses, office expenses, and traveling expenses, and also had options for several difference income categories. I'm sure artists and free-lancers like myself who in addition to a "regular" job pick up gigs along the way and aren't sure how to properly report those, resulting in loss of refund/deductions etc. Seriously, easiest way to file faxes EVER. :-)
What's great about it: LOVE filing taxes with Turbo Tax.

This is the 10 year I've used Turbo Tax and this was the easiest software so far. My return was a bit more complicated this year but it went smoothly with Turbo Tax.

Money well spent

Generally efficient.
An opportunity to make a global change to all personal information, e.g., address, would be helpful.
What's great about it: Well organized, comprehensive
What's not so great: Must scroll to the bottom for "continue" after each sub-section
