Great Tax Program

Turbo Tax is the only tax preparation I use.
What's great about it: Knows all the money saving shortcuts
What's not so great: Novice prepares may get false sense of efficiency.
Pros: I had a baby, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax is Fantastic!

Overall very easy to use, and we are a pretty complicated tax return with many different forms and income streams. The software did not catch the daycare in home but once I went back and went step by step it validated and calculated the % of home used properly. It needs to ask "is this business a daycare in the home" during the initial questions.
What's great about it: Easy to use, follow along instructions
What's not so great: I had to double check since My wife runs a day care and rework the % portion of the house. The software did not catch.

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years now. I highly recommend the Audit Protection.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
What's not so great: sometimes the explanation is not very clear

Overall it is a good program. The only problem I have with it is that some of the expense areas are not explained well enough, especially in the business section.
What's great about it: I liked the step by step prompting.
What's not so great: I found some of the areas vague. Needs to be more specific.

If it were my first time doing taxes using TurboTax, I'd be lost. The business edition needs revision. Mac version has some bugs in it. For the price I paid for this one time use software, I'd expect it to work each time, flawlessly.
What's great about it: Didn't have to make an appointment to get taxes done
What's not so great: everything else
