Worked pretty well

I upgraded to Home & Business & I was hoping it would cover all I needed to know. It didn't walk me through a worksheet on NOL, or maybe I could have tried to get that deduction, too.
What's great about it: EASY TO USE FOR THE MOST PART
What's not so great: Didn't explain NOL and walk me through it.
Just had to enter 28 lines of 1099-B data, each line and field separately, though there were only 4 different stocks on 9 different dates. Why couldn't data entry have suggested previous answers for fields like Quicken does? Ended up copy-n-pasting from a text file, over and over and over again.
And I'm still trying to figure out if my Section 179 entries were accounted correctly - somethings not right here by $2000 !
I had to download to another computer because of the XP failure and Windows 7 deal to make it secure, and thus I had to pay an additional state fee instead of getting it free. What a cheat. If it said on instructions not to use it on XP machines I would n't have loaded it on my older laptop but since it doesn't leave the house I worked on this computer and it didn't tell me not to use the insecure internet on the XP file. My computer tech at work explained it to me. :( Come on guys you could have put a warning when I uploaded latest updates this evening. The program also didn't review my taxes this year like it did last year. it just kept saying it was done with analysis, but wouldn't show any of it or show my the bar that says low or high risk of audit, but then when we got ready to file it kept finding things that should have been caught earlier so here I am getting to bed really late. Much much more hassle this year!!!!
What's great about it: I am done and got a big refund
What's not so great: I had to pay for state because I downloaded this on a computer doing XP and had to reload to a different computer
This is about the ninth or tenth year I have used TurboTax and it has always worked flawlessly for me. Some years the "extras" are better than others. I remember embedded videos explaining things some years back. If they are still there, I missed them.
I also like the information that is provided comparing your taxes and rates to others of similar income levels. Its fun to see how you stack up to others of similar income.
This year e-filing was the easiest ever. That part keeps getting better.
What's great about it: Worked like it was supposed to, no hiccups, no pain.
What's not so great: It's never fun to do your taxes, but that is not TurboTax's fault. I miss the videos that used to be embedded.
We always share the duties of tax time - one of us does the initial entry and the other gives it a second review to make sure everything is entered correctly and nothing is forgotten. TurboTax makes it as painless as possible for both of us by stepping us through the process and making us pay attention to each section. If you keep your receipts in one central location, it really doesn't take long to get everything entered and finished for the year.
What's great about it: Leads you through each step in case you don't know what you're doing.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
