The process caused me extra work

I my primary state of filing tax is South Carolina and file non permanent resident tax in the state of Georgia. However, the amount to be taxed in South Carolina included income from Georgia and the amount to be taxed in Georgia included income from South Carolina, even though I coded/entered them properly when being walked through the process. I ended up having to read the state tax instructions/laws and then go to the forms and correct them by directly typing in the correct data or deleting the data. Proper completion of these blocks was not programmed in to the software very well. It causes you to question whether your tax forms have been completed properly.
What's not so great: Data was not properly entered on State forms from the federal form

generally good. minor problems.

Generally easy to use. However, when it came to schedule C, I had problems.
- The business categories don't fit specialized businesses. It took my tax advisor about an hour to find out how to do this (he doesn't use the program).
- I mistakenly opted for 'started business this year'. Once I had selected this option, the program would not let me remove the election. The box would uncheck when I went back to review.
I had to apologize to the IRS for the extra form!
- there needs to be a specialized area to explain special circumstances, a word snapshot of the firm.

No sweat

I spent 30 years as a cost accountant/mgr, but I always hated taxes (an ungodly combination of law and accounting, mixed with politics).
The last two years I've used turbo tax, rather than my CPA, who retired.
If I can do this, (and I did), so most likely, can you.
What's great about it: This is easy and it works.
What's not so great: None yet

I have used TurboTax for 15 years and it has never let me down. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an accurate and easy way to do their taxes.
What's great about it: Walks you through everything you need to do to file your taxes

Great Product !!

I did not like the fact that I went to efile and a notice came up that I there were updates that needed to be downloaded.... This should happen prior to getting all the way to the end?
What's great about it: Great review helpers, very helpful I could never do this without TT

Never Fails to "Get 'er done!"

I trusted another source to do my tax returns the past two years, and this was a mistake. It took a while to get my paperwork back, and she made decisions for me that I would not have made if asked.
I have used TurboTax in the past and was eager to return to it. I keeps all my records electronically and still allows me to print hard copies if and as needed. This is my go-to software.

In college, at Indiana University of PA, I took a Federal Taxes course as part of major (business and education). It was in that coursework that I was first introduced to TurboTax. This professor was so well respected that the US Navy Accounting office would target-recruit her accounting grads. If TT was good enough for her, then how could I go wrong.
What's great about it: "Interview" was concise and resulting input was quickly calculated
What's not so great: A little difficult to "repair" if you inadvertently err and mark a box you shouldn't have (because you misread it)

Turbo Tax Works for the Enitre Family

The system walks you right through the process and allows you to make mistakes and go back and correct the issue. Also allows you to put in the "what if's" and see how it affects your refund or tax liability. Helps you plan for next year. The system provides all of help that you might need while doing your taxes and supports you through any problems you might encounter with those pesky revenuers!!
What's great about it: Free Federal Returns allows us and the four grown kids to file for free
What's not so great: Need to include 5 "Free" filings for the State as part of the purchase price. You could make in an "Option".
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments
