Always easy to use

I've been using TurboTax for years, especially when I realized my tax preparer was simply putting the information I gave him into it for a huge fee!
What's great about it: The step by step guidance is easy to follow with the ability to get additional information
What's not so great: none that I know of
Pros: I bought or sold investments

This program is very helpful. Explains in detail any concerns or questions that surface. I have not run into any problems with it since I have been using it for the past six years.

2013 Taxes

When I first switched to TTax I did paper returns as a backup for the first two years - it was a paradigm shift that took a while to get comfortable with. Then, the shift from computer to internet sort of felt similar, but my comfort level with IT had grown so it was not as dramatic. Now, I can't imagine doing it any other way. Next year I am adding Quicken to my tax toolbox and I want to start learning how to incorporate it into the process. I already use itsDeductible and have found it to be a fair and reasonable way to account for donations - so far it has worked and no probs with the IRS. I highly recommend it as well.
What's great about it: Since I moved to TTAx it has helped to keep me focused.
What's not so great: Only had one prob - no non-deductible IRA carryover ...don't know how I misseed it or what really happened.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Good program, would recommend but it does need patience like any good tax program.
What's great about it: Has all you need included
What's not so great: dosen't go back to where you saved last time

We have a business and this program makes it so easy to make sure we covered all of our expenses, deductions, and income. It is very clear about what is requested, what proof you need and exactly where the entries go. We have used the same program for 13 years and I feel confident that we are paying what we really owe.
What's great about it: Used this program now for 13 years and it just gets easier every year even with a business.

DEAR TURBOTAX, I AM A PROFESSIONAL TAX LAWYER AND A CPA AND HAVE BEEN USING TURBOTAX SINCE MY COMPUTER SCREEN WAS BLACK WITH GREEN CHARACTERS,
THIS YEAR IT TOOK ME A FULL WORKING DAY WITH THE DISC TO REALIZE IT WOULD NEVER INSTALL ON MY NEW WINDOWS 8 COMPUTER. I DOWNLOADED THE 2013 PROGRAM AND FINALLY DID GET IT TO INSTALL, BUT IT WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE MY 2012 SAVED RETURNS ON MY AUXILIARY HARD DRIVE.

GOOD NEWS IS THAT ONCE UP AND RUNNING 2013 TURBOTAX IS AWESOME. HOWEVER THE BLOGS AND OTHER INFO AVAILABLE ON THE WEB WAS LITTLE HELP WITH THE INSTALLATION. I HATE WINDOWS 8 AND THE INSTALLATION ISSUES HAVE TARNISHED YOUR OTHERWISE GREAT REPUTATION WITH ME. SOME MORE ADVICE ON THE WINDOWS 8 ISSUES EARLIER ON WOULD HAVE CURED THE ISSUE. YOURS, DAHDAH

How easy is this - I work full time, run a small business, have rental property and own a home. Turbo Tax makes it so easy. In 2007, when I acquired the rental property, I went to an accountant after having done my taxes in Turbo Tax. The results were nearly identical. I trust Turbo Tax so much, this is the only tax product I will ever use!
What's great about it: Click yes or no and enter figures
What's not so great: A few questions can throw you initially, but reading them again adds clarity!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
