Easy Tax Filing

Product needs work

I've used TurboTax for over 20 years without issue. This year had to spend over an hour on the phone with customer service to fix an issue with efile where the product was not recognizing a date in a W-2G. Turbo Tax had the boxes switched on the online form compared to the paper one. The customer service rep I got the second time I called (after being cut off) was excellent and stayed with me until we go the issue fixed by deleting the form and re-entering the information! This could have been fixed in 5 minutes! Will continue to use in future since I'm familiar with the product and had good customer service.
What's great about it: Customer Service was good
What's not so great: Program had a bug!

Some information lacking

A few things on here that need to be addressed. First of all, no viable means of contacting anyone other than thru a forum. Sorry, when I need to ask a question I need to TALK to someone. The 'submit a question' option told me I would be able to receive a phone number to call a rep. It came up "Error. Page not found". I have NO idea what that was about. Also, the Misc. Income with NO 1099 OPTION should be there and it's not. It would have kept me from wigging out for 30 minutes trying to find a means to get some answers. I am NOT anywhere near Tax Info. friendly, so for there to be no option for Misc. Income without a 1099, was a sore spot with me. You may want to update your software for that in the future. This is the second year I've had difficulty with that. I have no idea if I did the Business aspect of it right because I had no one who could talk me through it like I had last year. I basically went with what I had last year and let TurboTax determine if there were any errors. They said 'no', but we'll see. Anyway, you all really need to set up communications with reps better. It's aggravating as heck to be told you all will be there and there is no easy way to find out how to contact you. That's really my only complaint. Thanks!

Easy process, helpful walk through, community question wasn't answered fast enough to utilize answers.

Un-corrected Error

Ability to do a joint return for Pennsylvania when there is a deceased tax payer ( or spouse ) is unacceptable. Reported months ago and no update. Your what new even highlights the change for 2013, but program stops at state.
