i thought this version was the best I've used in many years. Only hangups were with the HSA form deciding which column I should be in. Then not being able to clear the form when I thought I'd filled it in error. And I still may have filled in the wrong column. The term High Deductible etc....was not explained in the place useful to me at the time. By the time I cashed my HSA in I was on Medicare, but I bought the HSA when I wasn't on Medicare. Thus the confusion over which column to use...and I'm still confused.
I wanted to go back to the beginning and clear any mention of an out of state tax due, since I had no official indication that anything is due so far. But once I'd gone through the whole program, and wanted to go back, there was no way. Thank you though for the option of mailing it myself and not automatically sending it. When actual money is generated, I'll report it.
What's great about it: Clearer and user friendly.
What's not so great: Can't go back to all pages in the beginning once you pass a certain point.
I have been using Turbo Tax for several years and it seems to get easier every year. I've only had to contact the helpline for a Turbo Tax issue one time, and my problem was cleared up within a few minutes. The helpline personnel are friendly and have even helped me when IRS personnel didn't know how to handle certain situations.
I like TurboTax and have used it for seven years. More than usual this year, I could not get it to take a totally valid gmail address. Wasted lots of time. Eroded some of my confidence.
What's great about it: Easy and concise to use.
What's not so great: Fought with it to take my email address, used for years.
A few errors I caught as I went through this program--my errors! I hit the first government refund part and thought that was where I put my state tax refund---------nope that was later---so it was confusing to me. 2nd item----was entering disability 1099 SSA income----again I thought it went in the first part where other 1099 information went but nope that too was later. Other than those 2 items all went very smoothly!!!
I like TurboTax and have used it for seven straight years. Always clear and concise to me and I have confidence in it. Big problem, not only here but in other sites, is that it does not like my gmail address, and yet it uses it all over. That was very frustrating and added hours to the process.
What's great about it: TurboTax has worked well for me for several years. Simple to use, but covers the tax issues well.
What's not so great: It sometimes rejects my email address in some locations of the process, but the address is valid.
