This software is cheaper than a warm body preparer. It's easy because they explain everything and give examples. I've used them for several years.
What's great about it: Easy to complete document.
What's not so great: Just hate doing taxes.

Be careful to get all the latest updates as the IRS makes changes that need to be incorporated.

I used to refer friends and clients to TT without any reservation. This year was much more difficult for some reason. I had to use the TT pros twice and even they were confused at first. This particular format needs to be fixed if I'm going to continue with TT in 2015.
What's great about it: Fairly easy
What's not so great: Not as easy as last year. Tax figures owed changed after reopening for unknown reasons.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

eternal update problem needs fixing

Very annoying bug that took me hours to fix - software keeps endlessly requiring you to do updates before filing. I ended up having to uninstall and reinstall the software entirely.
What's great about it: fine application, makes filing easy
What's not so great: ridiculous bug of updates

After using Turbo Tax for a couple of years, I find it very straightforward and I especially like the features that catch my own errors. It is simple for a non math person like myself.
What's great about it: It catches your errors.
What's not so great: Some stuff I don't need

I have used TurboTax for over a decade, and it makes the process almost (!) fun. The accuracy and easy of entry is the best thing about TurboTax, and I trust that the submission is right on the money.
What's great about it: Better and easier every year

Great Program

I have used Turbo Tax for the last 10 years after my new accountant made significant errors in my return. Since I have been using Turbo Tax it has become easier to use each year. The program will walk you through the process of filing but you still need to know what you are doing and about the forms you are filing particularly if you have a complicated return. The online help is a plus but again you have to know the questions you have. I like the fact that Turbo Tax will find errors before you file, but sometimes the error is unclear and you have to go back over each form. Yes, I like the program it is not perfect and some improvements can be made, like more specific directions on some of the forms and more detailed help. I recommend this program.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Step by step directions. On line help for problems with filing. Updates forms and instructions.
What's not so great: None really. However, you need to have some understanding about how to fill out the forms despite the instructions.
