Turbo Tax gets better every year. I'm amazed at how easy it is to do my taxes this days. I like how it easily guides me through all the credits and deductions. I would not use any other program to file my taxes.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I liked the ease and speed of filing this way. Had a little trouble because I didn't have the correct edition of Adobe, but when I got it downloaded, easy to print my copies.
What's great about it: Did not have to think too much
What's not so great: Could have thought for me

Reliable and easy to use

Have used TurboTax for over 10 years. Saves me hours of work at tax time, because it remembers the "carry-forward" losses and other year-to-year data items. I would never be able to calculate the AMT without TurboTax.
What's great about it: intuitive, comprehensive, easy to use, reliable
What's not so great: When you revisit a dividend page, it doesn't remember that you calculated the part that was exempt from federal taxes

It is very hard to get your move across. Turbo tax was either hard to get the idea. I could not make the move across, my selling and buying a house, my selling of the stock,. It wasn't easy! I know that the IRS is going to get a hold of me and it really is not necessary. And then maybe not!
What's great about it: Because of the years I have used it, it is very easy to use.
What's not so great: This year however, I moved to another state at my doctor's request.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

I prepared 5 income tax returns and each one was handled well. Had a bad birthdate in one return and Turbo tax helped me fix that with no effort. I did like the feature wherby you cound check on the status and expected date to receive my refund.
What's great about it: Did four efiles and got excellent results each time.
What's not so great: No complaints
Pros: I moved

Very helpful to me. I'll be back again next year. I think there is a glitch in the 2013 program. Please see my explanation in the cons section
What's great about it: good organization - easy to follow
What's not so great: I couldn't get the Form 4562 resul.ts to input to Schedule Line 13. 2012 prog. did that but the 2013 prog. did not.

There is far too much verbiage and attention given to maximizing the refund. The refund is only a function of how much money was given to the IRS vs how much money is due the IRS. It's OK to draw excess attention to providing a vehicle that provides accuracy, simplicity and ease, but the purpose of my purchasing TurboTax for many years now is not to "maximize my refund" but to submit an accurate return to the IRS. I really think that your excessive attention to the refund cheapens your product. While I, too, want to minimize my taxes, I purchase TurboTax to legally and accurately do so. I don't need all the extra hype while completing the program.
