It was fairly easy to complete my returns but I was not happy about the fact that the information from 2012 could not be transferred to this return even though it had been saved.
What's great about it: fairly easy
What's not so great: wouldn't transfer last years return info

Almost painless

Overall, the TurboTax experience went very well. The one issue I had as a minister was when entering my housing allowance. Because my data was imported from last year, I wasn't prompted to enter my housing allowance. Once I went back and confirmed a second time the details about this self-employed job, the software prompted for the housing allowance due to the entered business code. That issue caused me some head scratching, but other than that one problem, the experience was painless. Job well done!
What's great about it: Imported last years data accurately so I was already ahead of the game. Very quick and intuitive except for one wrinkle
What's not so great: Minor issue as a minister when entering my housing allowance.

Good software

I have used TurboTax for many years and it is a very good tool for federal tax filing.
What's great about it: Easy to use, consistent interface
What's not so great: Did not remind me of state tax, estimates of IRA deductions incorrect

Like it a lot, almost love it

For me, the pros outweigh the cons by a very wide margin. I actually had to work to come up with cons.
What's great about it: Easy and quick when you use the Guide Me option
What's not so great: Less friendly when you use the "I'll do it myself" option

Love Turbo Tax

Wonderful software! It is easy, and simple to use. Had 99% of my questions answered with the "What's this" button to click on. Very helpful error reviews, and audit alerts. Will buy next year.
What's great about it: Easy to File, just have all of your paperwork in front of you and start!
What's not so great: have to pay state E-file fee

Very poor experience

The tracking of forms to easy step is terrible. There should be a source connection for every entry. MD software was messed up for underpayment credits - omitted w2 amounts.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Late updates and messed up

Awesome Except for Self Employed

Overall, I like the TurboTax approach. I couldn't file my own taxes without it.
This year, for the first time, my spouse and I were able to file jointly. She is employed full-time, I'm self-employed.
When I tried to calculate my estimate tax payments, TurboTax couldn't separate our incomes. I have to figure this out manually.
What's great about it: Questionnaire format makes it easy to find deductions
What's not so great: Confused my self-employed income with my spouse's income
