Fast and Easy

I have used Turbo Tax for over 15 years and it just keeps getting better! I have learned how to prepare my documentation before starting the program which makes the whole process very, very smooth. I can't imagine a better way to deal with a tedious process.
What's great about it: Clear instructions, step by step or choose your path options
What's not so great: Occasionally challenging to eliminate erroneous entries

Turbo Tax is easy to use and accurate

The transfer of data from prior years makes the process a breeze. The deductions are very easy to enter since you have a baseline from the prior year. Transferring data from my brokerage account would have been easier if all dates were completed automatically.
My only complaint is the cost to e-file the NJ state.
What's great about it: Easy to transfer items from year to year, and brokerage info
What's not so great: Some calculations are not explained, leaving some confusion

Good tax program

When you are done with your return, Turbo Tax will do a check for errors. If it finds an error, you will most likely be taken to some work sheet with a highlighted field where they want some value entered. Only trouble is; you may have no clue what value is needed and they don't give you a clue either.
What's great about it: Easy to understand questions
What's not so great: Error check needs some work

I've used Turbo Tax for almost 10 years now and I like how they ask questions at a laymans level. Also, the ease of using the program. No complaints.
What's great about it: It seemed easier to use this year. Questions were very understandable.
What's not so great: No cons.

Turbo 2013 Review
on March 20, 2014

There are a few reasons why I love Turbo Tax. First, they are still making TurboTax compatible with older systems, like Vista. I understand the need be up-to-date, but most are not. I also appreciate that there is a Mac version since I will be doing my Mom's taxes with a Mac. Another huge reason I like Turbo Tax is the fact that I can stop at any time, save the results and come back at another time. I hate having to go to 'The Tax Guy' and thinking I have everything I need but wind up forgetting. Turbo tax is huge for giving me time to do my taxes until I am happy with them. The help links are very useful too. At this time I do not have any negative to say about TurboTax.
What's great about it: Turbo 2013 still works with Vista

Surpised at the number of software errors
on March 20, 2014

Several times when using the software in March, I had TurboTax lead me down the wrong path in entering data. After going through the whole checkup of my Federal return and correcting all errors, I prepared to file it electronically. Before filing, I remembered that I had not entered our Roth contributions. So I went through that section and corrected those amounts. Then when I went through error check, the program told me I had errors in both of my W-2s that I had entered. Why did it not catch this the first time? I am a software engineer and TurboTax has definite quality problems in their coding and testing.
What's great about it: Home & Business covers all the forms I need and it remembers my personal entries from the previous year.
What's not so great: Has weird errors that leads to lack of confidence in accuracy
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2013 Federal and Ohio State Return
on March 20, 2014

I was not satisfied with how the state aspects were handled. I paid extra for the home and business version and that should apply to the state level. Instead though the software leaves me to my own devices with obtusely written worksheets trying to figure out my Ohio Small Business Investor Income Deduction Schedule. I'm pretty sure I did it right but I'd feel better if I'd had the plain language explanation from TurboTax that I've come to expect from my TurboTax product.
What's great about it: Convenient
What's not so great: State support inadequate
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used Turbo Tax for years and it just gets better. By staying with TT I am able to track my taxes easily for last few years. Also being able to bring forward all the personal info and the W2 issuer info saves so much time.; Love you guys
What's great about it: Loved being able to pull info from last years taxes so I don't have to fill out each year.
What's not so great: Paying extra to efile the state taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
