Product is generally ok, but there are a few situations where I have to ad-lib.
What's not so great: It seems I can't print a return without buying pdf 2013. I don't think that is necessary.

Overall, I've been using Turbo Tax for the last 10 years and though I hate to do my taxes, using this software always makes less arduous and I feel confident that I didn't miss something or enter anything incorrectly.
What's great about it: Step-by-step entry and ability to import information from prior year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax 2013

Federal tax is done quite well.
California state tax has wrong mailing zip code if you have a refund or no tax due. Should end in 0001, not 0009, per CA instructions.
What's not so great: You cannot free e-file the state.Print options should allow no printing of "Smart Worksheets". It wastes paper.

Throrough Coverage

1. Medical exemption questions: I entered the total spent during the step-by-step questions, then had to keep going back to revise the figures because individual categories such as dental and eye care, were asked later instead of up front.
2. TurboTax assumed an erroneous purchase date on an IRA account, that I almost missed seeing.
What's great about it: The step-by-step method is thorough.
What's not so great: Some questions, for example in the medical exemption step-by-step could be rearranged. See below.

I do not like the community function when I need to ask a question. I would like a link to a direct attendant to ask simple questions about entry or where to find an item.
What's great about it: Easy of entry.
What's not so great: Would like an instant interactive help function to ask questions

First time using TurboTax. It was fast simple and easy. I felt the directions were very easy to understand. I was pleasantly surprised. Did not like it at the end when I had to pay for state e-file. I didn't know that when I started.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Paying for state e-file
