Turbo Tax

I would like to see you make additional e-filings available on an as needed basis without having to buy a much more expensive program with more e-filings than I will ever need.
Also, at times when you have to go into a certain section to update something you have to drill through a bunch of pages to get back out. You should be able to go into a section and make your change and then have the option of getting right back out without having to keep going though items you have already entered before.

What's great about it: Pretty good program
What's not so great: I do six returns for us and our childen. I don't like that I can not buy an additional e-filing as I need it.

Need Form T in TTax!

Why can't Form T be included? The lack of Form T forces me to paper file instead of e-file. TTax also needs to include questions on timber sales and also needs better questions on how to handle investments, especially annuities on death.
What's great about it: I like transferring my data year to year (over 20 years now!)
What's not so great: I don't like the fact that Form T is excluded and the handling of timber sales is non-existant in any questions

Improve TurboTax

Overall, a great program. The only thing I would add to make it easier for taxpayers is this: When I am trying to figure out, in the business deductions section, where I put certain figures last time, such as office supplies, misc. expenses, etc. it would help immensely if it brought up last years entry lists, not just the amounts. As it is, I need to have the previous year's TurboTax program opened with its tax return open, and look on each page to find where I put my figures. It would be great if that was just in the new program. Then I wouldn't have to have two versions of the program open at the same time. It doesn't help to have my .pdf or printed return for the previous year, as it also only show amounts, not the details of where I listed things.
What's great about it: easy to use as usual
What's not so great: hard to find what I entered in previous years, other than amounts.

Thorough

I like everything about TurboTax but one thing confused me during the walk thru process in the deductions section this year. In the Taxes you paid section it displayed a dollar number that included my federal income taxes in addition to my state income taxes. Since only the state income tax is deductible this was confusing. It also included this amount when listing my deductions even though it correctly included only the state income tax amount as a deduction in calculating my deduction and I could see this correct amount when viewing through the forms view.
What's great about it: Very thorough and accurate
What's not so great: One part confused me

Unable to e-file

Each time I tried it said to download updates. Downloading the updates did not remove the problem.

TurboTax Saves Time & Money

The TurboTax interview method of ensuring tax advantages is quick and easy to use and makes sure you get all the deductions the law allows. This is a great product.

Great Product!

I especially like the ability to save my return in a PDF format for review year-by-year. Everything went well. I have a small business and the Home & Business product produced the results I have come to expect from Turbo Tax!
