love Turbo Tax

I purchased the audit feature last year...Thank team jumped right on it!! I was so relieved! I did make a mistake and noted my husband as a dependent which was an error. TT Audit team got with me immediately and filed an amended return noting the correction needed. IRS still took 5 months to respond to Turbo Tax Audit's amended return. The wonderful lady with the TT Audit team pressed IRS to complete the return which they finally did. What a relief! I will continue to use Turbo Tax and the Audit support!!
What's great about it: support very good
What's not so great: Need more simplifications and noted when changes have occurred

overall met expectations of a program I have used for over 20 years.
What's great about it: easy to navigate; easy instructions
What's not so great: some of the commands could be streamlined-like the review
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Handles All

The time savings are the main reason I use TurboTax. It would take me 3 to 4 days to fill out the worksheets manually and then I wasn't sure that everything was covered.
Also, the import of data directly to the state forms is very easy.
What's great about it: Handled all of our items: W2, 1099-INT,DIV,R,SSA,MISC, and land sale.
What's not so great: Need a MISC catagory for Patent & Innventions
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Arkansas e-file stops efile for error that passed
on March 22, 2014

I had joint income from line 1040 17 exported to my Arkansas taxes where we filed separately on the same return. All the income was allocated to me except 1 dollar. I manually over rode this to more evenly distribute the income between my wife and I . This passed all checking and then I paid to file my AR return. At this point the e-file flagged the error and i could not fix it until I resored the return to its original (uneven allocation)

another year with turbotax

So - I've been using TurboTax for better than a decade - the program's "guided" mode has been getting easier, but at the expense of direct-access forms. This year for whatever reason the import of security transactions out of my Quicken (which is reconciled every month# was a real mess - so bad that I had to manually delete and re-enter all information - and was really surprised there was no "select all" AND that any edit I made on the worksheets or actual forms were ignored by the interview and seemingly NOT showing up on the final 1040 or schedules. Aside from the securities being a mess the rest of the process was quick and painless #1040, 5 supporting schedules including time it took to completely re-do investments) still less than 5 hours total. Still seems odd, at the end of the whole process, that nothing in TurboTax updates any tax schedule information in quicken for the next tax year - schedules, deducts, whatever, would be a nice nod to those who are faithful Intuit customers.
What's great about it: fast, especially with quicken import, easy to navigate
What's not so great: security import a real mess - wasn't even close to my 1099s
