So - I've been using TurboTax for better than a decade - the program's "guided" mode has been getting easier, but at the expense of direct-access forms. This year for whatever reason the import of security transactions out of my Quicken (which is reconciled every month# was a real mess - so bad that I had to manually delete and re-enter all information - and was really surprised there was no "select all" AND that any edit I made on the worksheets or actual forms were ignored by the interview and seemingly NOT showing up on the final 1040 or schedules. Aside from the securities being a mess the rest of the process was quick and painless #1040, 5 supporting schedules including time it took to completely re-do investments) still less than 5 hours total. Still seems odd, at the end of the whole process, that nothing in TurboTax updates any tax schedule information in quicken for the next tax year - schedules, deducts, whatever, would be a nice nod to those who are faithful Intuit customers.
What's great about it: fast, especially with quicken import, easy to navigate
What's not so great: security import a real mess - wasn't even close to my 1099s

Works Well

I've been using Turbo Tax (TT) for tens years. I use to do everything in Excel then transfer all work to the IRS paper forms. Imagine that! With TT, I've never had a problem. I've recommended it to many others - including my father.
The wizard works well. I'll often jump to the forms user experience for special circumstances.
This year with the simplified home office deduction, TT did not work correctly until you installed the latest update. I did spend a couple of hours researching and trying alternatives. I decided to wait a few weeks before trying again (knowing that there are regular updates). Wa-la - they fixed the issue with the latest update.
I've also subscribed to the annual delivery; simple and easy!
What's great about it: Easy to use wizard
What's not so great: Form entry method can be tough

Making it Easy

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and recommend it to anyone I file not only personal taxes but farm and Schedule C also and Turbo Tax makes it easy and also saves me a bunch of money in tax preparation Thanks ever so much

Great Service and Software

I have used Turbo Tax for years and and always been pleased! The software is easy to use, and the help available through forums, FAQs and by telephone is phenomenal! I have never been disappointed and have always come out ahead by using Turbo Tax instead of having someone else prepare my taxes.

If you use Turbo Tax you wont miss any opportunity to keep your taxes low or your refund high.
What's great about it: I do not understand the tax forms, Turbo Tax does.
What's not so great: Problem is with IRS not TT
