Good times with Turbo

I have been using Turbo Tax for my taxes for many years. I love the software because the questions are easy to answer. I am not an expert on computer software, but its easy to work with. I plan to continue to use Turbo Tax for as long as I have to file taxes.
The 1041 for Trusts and Estates should be part of this version. That is why I bought the extended package. Yet the 1041 is only in your Business Version. Estate and trust processing is very much a part of the Personal and Business environment.
What's great about it: Easy to follow directions and quick recall
What's not so great: Business version did not have 1041 as part of the program
I love that it saves my info year after year. It makes doing my taxes easy. With all of the help and info parts I can look up answers to questions that I might have. We have used Turbo Tax for Years (14 years) and it gets better and easier each time! ' Thank you so much for helping me with my taxes and walking me through everything with ease.
I have used Turbo Tax for the last 5 years and didn't have so many questions I don't have answers to. E-filing gets stuck if box 14 is blank. I chose several combinations of "no entry", 'other" and eventually when I put a 1 in the left box it took it....this needs to be clearly spelled out. Bad coding !!
What's great about it: don't see any when it comes to filing CA taxes.
What's not so great: State tax filing is not use friendly
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I buy Turbo Tax Home and Business every year out of fear that if I change to another tax software, there will be some backward compatibility issue, not because I think it's the best package. Error messages are meaningless. And all errors -big or small, are treated with the same degree of importance. Any error, even an error on a worksheet form, will prevent you from e-filing your return. Often, K-1 data supplied by large publically traded Partnerships are quibbled with. These are "errors' that the tax payer cannot fix cause we have no other data-----even if we understood the error message ----- even if we understood the taxation laws...... which we don't! That's why we buy the software. Turbo tax needs a rating scale for errors. Turbo Tax needs to recognize that when the user 'over-rides' the error, the user is not doing that by accident, and wants to file the return "as presented."
What's great about it: color of the box?
What's not so great: meaningless error messages; lack of suggestions on how to fix
I would like to see TT Business for my "S" Corp and personal taxes combined regardless of the price. I would like to compare them together from year to year to try and understand if I am being consistent between both returns.
This year I wasn't and cannot adjust the two since the corp one was filed last month.
Since I have never used anything other than TT, I don't feel qualified in rating it.
What's great about it: Was able to complete this and be comfortable with the results
What's not so great: It was difficult comparing the forms to what had done last year and comprehend the differences.
