MT state tax portion was lacking. It didn't import much information from the Fed forms. Support for several pages was lacking. Several questions were unclear---again without "support" or "help" available for the pages---or explanations.
What's great about it: Seems to have been improved over last year. Clearer choices.
What's not so great: Sometimes the "back" button takes the customer too far back.
I have used TurboTax for years, for both personal and business taxes. I find it very user friendly and easy to find information relating to specific questions. Tax time is stressful, but Turbo Tax helps alleviate some of that stress.
Had problem with Form 8829 worksheet. It showed a negative income and incorrect % of business use of home office. Don't understand how it got those items wrong either. Had to "google" the problem in order to resolve it.
I had all my W2's except one. I tried to import it by using W2 management. Unfortunately, the site does not work unless you already have a W2 in hand to get the import code from. Without the import code you can't generate a W2. The W2 I needed was from the Kroger Company which allows imports. If I already had the W2 in my hand, I would not need W2 management. I tried to use the help forum and everyone else had the same problem with absolutely no help available. W2 express was worthless and so is W2 management. This makes turbo tax an inferior program for taxes. Hr block for me.
What's great about it: most of the program was helpful
What's not so great: W2 management is a joke, so is the health care at the end
Have used turbo tax for several years and always been satisfied! Just for reference, we have a somewhat complicated tax setup. Have several misc 1099 incomes to report, 2 farm businesses, a beauty salon, residual income and 3 W-2 incomes to report. Turbo tax makes it easy to get all info in and in the right spots!
What's great about it: easy to understand, explains it all very clearly
